Natalie McMullen
Registered Psychotherapist
In therapy, we'll explore how your past shaped these patterns and work together to help you feel safe enough to finally let your guard down and start living on your own terms.

My path to becoming a therapist began during my own teenage years, as I navigated the challenges of identity, relationships, family conflict, and self-esteem. Growing up mixed-race (half Korean, half white Canadian) and moving between countries every few years, I often felt caught between worlds, searching for a sense of belonging. These experiences shaped my understanding of what it means to feel different, uprooted, or unseen.
Seeking support as a teen, I discovered firsthand the transformative power of therapy. The tools and insights I gained continue to guide me today, both personally and professionally. Around the same time, I took my first psychology class and was immediately inspired by the potential for psychological science to foster real, positive change in people’s lives. It became clear to me that my calling was to help others find healing and growth.
I pursued this passion by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and volunteering at a distress line, offering support to individuals in crisis. I then completed a Post Diploma in Behavioural Science, followed by six years as an instructor therapist supporting autistic children, teens, and adults. My journey continued with a Master of Arts in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I now specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, and attachment issues.
As a therapist, I am deeply committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where you can explore your story, build resilience, and make meaningful changes. I bring my lived experience, professional training, and genuine empathy to every session.
Outside of my work, I enjoy life in Toronto with my husband and our beloved cat. I also continue my own therapy, believing strongly in the importance of ongoing self-care and personal growth.
"If you’re considering therapy, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can work towards the healing and change you deserve."
As a therapist specializing in attachment issues, I help clients understand the roots of their insecure attachment patterns, whether they stem from anxiety, avoidance, or a combination of both. Through a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship, we explore how early life experiences and past relationships may have influenced current patterns of connection and trust. I provide a nonjudgmental space where clients can express their fears, needs, and vulnerabilities, fostering increased self-awareness and compassion.
I help clients navigate anxiety by creating a supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment where they can safely explore the patterns and triggers underlying their anxious feelings. Together, we identify how anxiety shows up in their daily lives and examine the thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations that accompany it. By understanding these patterns, clients gain clarity and a sense of agency over their experiences, which is the first step toward lasting change.
I support clients in healing from trauma by providing a compassionate and safe therapeutic space where their experiences are honored and validated. Recognizing that trauma can deeply affect emotions, relationships, and sense of self, I guide clients through gentle exploration of their histories at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering. My approach focuses on helping clients reconnect with their inner strengths and resources, fostering resilience as they move toward recovery.
The anxiety, the self-doubt, the constant need to hold everything together — those aren't who you are. They're what you had to become to get through. And you don't need them anymore.
